NewsOpportunity Bank provides award for young author at Serbia Ethno Network Exhibition
Zorica Jovanović and Milica Cvijović from Serbia and Milijana Zirojević, Sena Đurica and Aida Ramić from Republika Srpska are this year’s winners of the award for best miniatures made by using traditional techniques.
Their works won first places at the 4th juried handicraft exhibition “100 žena – 100 minijatura“ (“100 women – 100 miniatures“) in the category for embroidery, weaving, and best young author. The exhibition was organised by Ethno Network Society and the representatives of Republika Srpska in Serbia, in cooperation with NALED.
The annual miniature exhibition “100 žena – 100 minijatura“ (“100 women – 100 miniatures“) is the only juried handicraft exhibition which sets high standards in the area of old techniques with the aim to actively preserve Serbian traditional heritage.
Through the sponsorship of socially responsible companies, valuable prize money was provided for all best ranked authors, and Opportunity Bank awarded Milica Cvijović, a young author under 30 with the aim to support the young in active preservation of cultural heritage.
This way, Opportunity Bank showed support for the work of Ethno Network which promotes handicraft manufacture as a perspective economy branch which can provide employment and source of income for thousands of women and the young from all parts of Serbia with only minimum investment, and thus contribute to changing the country’s image.
