Client storiesJelica Malić from Visnjevac
Our client Jelica Malic lives in a small village of Visnjevac in the Northern Vojvodina region, which has population of about 600. She is a single mother of three children who started a small cattlebreeding agricultural production after a divorce. Jelica lives at the farm with her elderly father and a son, while her two daughters are studying at the Novi Sad University. She does most of the works at her farm by herself and her main source of income is milk production.
Jelica took her first loan from Opportunity bank Serbia for providing fodder and necessary raw materials for the farm, and after Subotica Dairy closed its milk-purchasing station in Visnjevac, Jelica got idea to build a milk-purchasing station by herself and buy milk from cattlebreeders from Visnjevac on behalf of the Subotica Dairy. Opportunity Bank provided the loan needed for the adaptation of the facility which is now successfuly used as a milk-purchasing station.
Thanks to the Opportunity loan, Jelica has managed to increase her monthly income and provide a better life for her family and education for her children, at the same time helping the milk-producers from her village to sell their milk locally, instead of having to travel every day.
